20× Pro session allowance; five-hour and weekly limits
- Included usage
- 20× Pro session allowance; five-hour and weekly limits. Actual use depends on models, conversation length and features; this is not a universal token quota. Source ↗
- Reset timing
- Sessions reset every five hours. Weekly allowance has a fixed account-assigned reset time, independent of subscription renewal. Source ↗
- Shared tools
- Claude and Claude Code share the same included allowance and usage-credit balance. Source ↗
- Fable allowance
- Fable 5 and 5.1 can consume up to 50% of the regular weekly allowance. This is not an additional allowance. Source ↗
- Extra usage
- Optional purchased credits continue usage beyond included limits. Set spend limits in Settings > Usage. Source ↗
- Credit expiry
- Purchased credits generally do not expire; certain jurisdictions, including Japan, have a six-month expiry. Source ↗
- Privacy
- Consumer privacy settings control whether chats and coding sessions help improve Claude. Incognito chats are excluded from model improvement. Source ↗
- Billing
- Max subscriptions are monthly only. Web upgrades are prorated; app-store billing can differ. Source ↗
- Agent SDK
- Agent SDK and claude -p usage draws on subscription limits. A June 15 change that would have moved it to a separate monthly credit was paused. Source ↗
- Other apps
- Anthropic does not permit third-party developers to offer Claude.ai login in their apps or to route requests through Pro or Max credentials for their users. It directs those developers to API keys, billed separately. Source ↗
- Cancellation
- Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid the next charge. Access continues until the paid billing period ends. Source ↗

Provider statements
- Included usage. 20× Pro’s per-session allowance, with five-hour and weekly limits. Claude Code included. Source
- Per-session usage allowance (multiple of Pro). Max 20x includes 20 times the Pro plan's per-session usage allowance. This tier is ideal for daily users who collaborate often with Claude for most tasks. Source
- Session usage limit reset. Your session-based usage limit will reset every five hours. Max plans also have a weekly usage limit that applies across all models. The weekly limit resets at a fixed time each week that is assigned to your account. Source
- Weekly usage limit across all models. Max plans also have a weekly usage limit that applies across all models. The weekly limit resets at a fixed time each week that is assigned to your account. Source
- Fable model share of weekly usage limits. You can use up to 50% of your weekly usage limits on Fable models at no extra cost. Source
- Discretionary weekly/monthly caps and model or feature usage limits. In addition, to manage capacity and ensure fair access to all users, we may limit your usage in other ways, such as weekly and monthly caps or model and feature usage, at our discretion. Source
- Usage credits (opt-in pay-as-you-go overage). Usage credits allow individuals subscribed to paid Claude plans (Pro, Max 5x, and Max 20x) to continue using Claude seamlessly after reaching their included usage limits. Source
- Usage-credit funding: daily redemption limit (funding rule, not simulated workload capacity). There is a daily redemption limit of $2000. Source
- Discounted usage-bundle purchase cap (billing rule, not simulated workload capacity). Individual Pro and Max plan subscribers can purchase up to $2000 worth of discounted bundles per month. Any usage beyond this limit is billed at standard rates. Source
- What the provider does not publish. Same as Max 5x: no absolute numeric allowance published; only the 20x multiple relative to Pro, whose own allowance is unquantified. Source
- Model availability scope. Anthropic publishes which models a subscription can use at provider level rather than per plan; this catalog records that lineup for each of its plans. Source

5× Plus Work and Codex usage; no five-hour limit, weekly limits may apply
- Included usage
- 5× Plus usage allowance for Work/Codex. Pro plans currently have no five-hour limit; weekly limits may apply. Source ↗
- Shared limits
- Local messages and cloud chats share the allowance. Weekly limits may also apply; fast mode and image generation consume it faster. Source ↗
- Ultrafast
- Not included. Buying credits on Pro 100 does not unlock Ultrafast at launch. Source ↗
- Extra usage
- Additional credits continue supported usage after included limits. API-key usage is separately metered and billed. Source ↗
- Tools
- ChatGPT Work and Codex clients use plan allowances. This does not include a general-purpose OpenAI API balance. Source ↗
- Other apps
- Sign in with ChatGPT lets supported apps use your plan for AI requests. Usage counts toward your existing Work and Codex limits and adds no allowance. You can cap each app in Settings > Usage, and apps may charge their own fees. Source ↗
- Privacy
- Personal-workspace data sharing is on by default; opt out in Data Controls. Source ↗
- Plan changes
- Available upgrades apply immediately and restart the billing cycle. Downgrades and cancellation take effect at the end of the paid period. Source ↗
- Credit expiry
- Purchased personal-plan credits expire 12 months after purchase and are non-transferable. Refund exceptions are limited. Source ↗
- Purchased resets
- Eligible Plus and Pro accounts may buy an immediate five-hour and weekly reset. It advances the normal allowance, not an extra credit balance; the new weekly period begins with the next Work/Codex request. Source ↗

Provider statements
- Included usage. 5× Plus usage. ChatGPT, Codex and Work, with model-specific allowances and optional paid credits. Source
- Pro $100 usage relative to Plus. Both Pro tiers include the same core capabilities. The main difference is usage allowance: Pro $100 unlocks 5x higher usage than Plus, while Pro $200 unlocks 20x usage than Plus. Source
- Per-model usage allowances (temporary model unavailability). Some models have separate usage allowances on ChatGPT Pro, and allowances can differ by Pro tier. The $100 Pro tier includes lower usage allowances than the $200 Pro tier. When you reach a model's allowance, that model may be temporarily unavailable until the allowance resets. ChatGPT displays the reset time when available. Reaching a model's allowance does not by itself mean that your account was restricted or that your subscription ended. You can use another available model or wait until the displayed reset time. There is no setting to increase or bypass a model's usage allowance. Source
- 5-hour and weekly Codex/Work allowances. Customers on ChatGPT Plus and Pro plans can buy an instant reset from Usage settings in ChatGPT Desktop before reaching a limit, or from an in-app offer after reaching the weekly limit. A completed purchase immediately restores both 5-hour and weekly usage. It pulls your normal weekly allowance forward rather than adding a separate usage entitlement. Source
- Paid instant weekly reset (Plus and Pro only). Buying a reset is available to eligible ChatGPT Plus and Pro personal accounts on ChatGPT web and the Codex desktop app. It is not available on Free, Go, Business, Enterprise, or Edu plans. Source
- Usage credits (pay-as-you-go overage). For Plus and Pro, Codex, ChatGPT Work, Excel, and PowerPoint can share the same agentic usage allowance when those features are available on your plan. Source
- Ultrafast not included. Among Pro plans, Ultrafast is available only on Pro 500. At launch, buying credits on Pro 100 or Pro 200 does not unlock Ultrafast. Source
- What the provider does not publish. OpenAI publishes no numeric allowance for Pro; usage is given only as a multiple of Plus ('5x higher usage than Plus'), and Plus's own allowance is unquantified. 'Some models have separate usage allowances on ChatGPT Pro, and allowances can differ by Pro tier.' Source
- Model availability scope. OpenAI publishes which models a subscription can use at provider level rather than per plan; this catalog records that lineup for each of its plans. Source

Included means the plan lists the model as included or available with conditions. Model choice and limits can differ between a plan's apps; each lineup link above has the conditions.
Published usage values can use different model rates and multipliers. They are not cash balances or interchangeable request quotas. Replay your history where exact plan mechanics are supported.
